A Bit About Me
I was born in Angleton, Texas and was raised across the U.S. before settling back in Texas. I attended Brazosport College, where I received an Associate’s Degree. During my time at Brazosport College, I worked as a manager at a local hotel full time. Following graduation, I moved on to Texas State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. My interest in political science drove me to begin working at the Texas Capitol for the 84th Legislature as the Senate Agenda Clerk. Upon my departure from the Capitol, I was picked up by the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists. My role has steadily grown over the years from an Executive Assistant to now Chief Operating Officer.
In October 2021, I was appointed as the first Executive Director for the Texas School Nurses Organization.
I have six years of invaluable experience concerning strategic planning, board governance, operations, and advocacy in Texas. I believe that a successful organization results from a robust strategic plan combined with effective advocacy and communication. I enjoy tapping into individuals who will best contribute to the organization's mission by working closely with them to ensure an advocacy-driven team.
My passion is travel and I yearn for new places and new faces. I have taken several solo adventures across the states and the "pond" into Europe. However, Austin is where I call home. You can typically find me trying out a new restaurant and taking the title as a foodie very seriously!
